Thou Shalt Not Suffer: The Benjamin Harris Files

SKU 201 Category:

In Cincinnati, journalist Benjamin Harris links the murders of two Montana girls to an arson in which a teacher has vanished. A man named Dar Stewart has been arrested at the scene of a house fire and is the primary suspect in its arson. Ben talks his boss into letting him go to the small Montana town of Fords Mill to pursue the story. In researching the murders, Ben is unnerved by the details of the bodies. There is no sign of trauma, and the autopsies are returned, cause of death unknown. The girls were killed exactly two years apart and both have the same bizarre symbols scrawled across their backs. Shortly after arriving in Fords Mill, Ben realizes the residents aren’t accepting of him at all. Fortunately, he meets a waitress named Kara Adler who is willing to help him. Kara immediately gets pulled into the mystery far deeper than she ever could have imagined. Ben Harris knows this could be his big break, the story that takes him from tabloid reporter, to a serious journalist. He just isn’t prepared for what he is about to uncover.

T.B. Stevens

T.B. Stevens was born in May of 1966 in Missoula, Mt., and was raised in the Bitteroot Valley in the mountains of western Montana. After finishing high school in 1984, he and his family moved all around the country before finally settling in San Tan Valley, AZ. A late bloomer to writing, T.B. didn’t begin publishing articles until his early forties. In late 2013 he published his first novel, “The Key.” In mid 2017 his second novel, “Thou Shalt Not Suffer” was published. T.B. grew up the oldest of four children in a traditional blue collar home. His father was a logger who worked all over the northwest as a timber faller, and his mother was a stay at home mom until the children were raised. When T.B. wasn’t working as a farm and ranch worker, he was fishing and hunting the streams and mountains of the Bitterroot Valley. His author influences are John Steinbeck, Cormac McCarthy, Frederick Forsyth, and Stephen King among many others. A lifelong devotee to classic movies, T.B. was profoundly influenced by classic horror and science fiction films. The Universal Pictures monster movies of the thirties and forties, and film noir of the forties and fifties were particularly formative to him. Movies such as, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolfman were particularly strong influences in the horror genre. Film Noir selections like, Out of the Past, The Third Man, and Kiss Me Deadly, had an equal impact. His love of writing sprang from a desire to tell the stories that he was unable to find in book form, and has led to four novels and counting. T.B.
