A laboratory guide for the home chymist. Featuring practical lab recipes; syntheses of hard to find chymicals and reagents; technical definitions; photographs and drawings of apparatus, equipment, chymical demonstrations and substances needed and synthesized; and explanations of safety procedures. The Grimoire is a glimpse inside the world of a practical chymist. The text and illustrations were inspired by the discovery of a large cache of notebooks and files and covers everything from perfumes to pyrotechnics. The editor hopes The Chymical Grimoire will inspire other chymists, especially those working in home laboratories, to make their own contributions and to leave a record of their work to the future.
