Elizabeth Silva began her professional writing career late in life, AFTER her official retirement. She grew up in a military family, living in seven states before settling in Texas at age 17. She attended college as an English major, where she developed her love of writing. While working as a high school English teacher and guidance counselor, she and her husband raised four children, now adults. They currently live in North Texas with their two grandsons, a dog, and two cats. Elizabeth is a community contributor to the Dallas Morning News (under the name Patty Sisco), and is presently collaborating with her granddaughter on a children’s book. She is an advocate for public education, mental health, autism, and grandparents raising grandchildren.
